Friday, November 1, 2019 - San Francisco, CA - Nick’s on Mission opens their doors today at 996 Mission St., San Francisco, CA 94103, serving Filipino plant based cuisine in the heart of San Francisco’s Filipino Cultural Heritage district, SOMA Pilipinas. The restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch service, Monday-Saturday, from 7am-3pm; serving classic dishes like lumpia, pancit, sisig, and kaldereta, “turo-turo” style (Filipino for point-point). Other popular items will include ube pancakes, leche flan, and a variety of packaged foods will be available in the to-go only space.

“I’m really excited that we’re opening today, on World Vegan Day!”, shares owner Reina Montenegro. “It’s been a wild ride since we first transformed our business into 100% plant based back in 2017. With Nick’s on Grand being a huge success in South San Francisco, we knew our next location had to be part of SOMA Pilipinas. I hope Nick’s on Mission opens up the community to try more plant based foods into their daily lives. Who knows, we might be able to turn your mom or lola into a vegan!” says Montenegro.

When Reina Montenegro and partner Kenny Annis opened their first restaurant ‘Nick’s Kitchen’ in Daly City in 2017, they struggled to get people in the door. They made the bold decision to transform into a 100% plant based restaurant, and business has been booming ever since. A second location ‘Nick’s on Grand’, in South San Francisco provides a more upscale dining setting, with the Daly City location now a commissary for the entire operation.
