SAN FRANCISCO, CA - November 23, 2020 - Filipinos Feed the Frontlines — an ongoing, local meal distribution & restaurant stabilization initiative by Kultivate Labs —  is partnering with an anonymous local donor who is contributing funds for 500 meals to frontline & essential workers, while providing financial relief to restaurants in San Francisco's Filipino Cultural District SOMA Pilipinas. Food partners Chef Reina, Manila Bowl, Lumpia Company, and Sarap Shop will deliver them to select sites on November 23rd and 25th.

The initiative between Filipinos Feed the Frontlines will provide lunch and dinner during the Thanksgiving holiday to Seton Hospital in Daly City, several fire and police stations in San Francisco, and community organizations Westbay, Hospitality House and United Playaz.

“We’re so thankful that this local partner is helping us this year. As COVID cases increase, putting a strain on everyone, we know having a hot meal made with love can go a long way.” shares Aaron Orcino, Kultivate Labs Program Manager. “This generous donation coupled with restaurant owners, SSF Chicken Box - Jason Angeles and Ronnie Taylor's $1500 weekly contribution to the campaign, is what we needed to get through the Holidays. We’re not only sustaining vulnerable communities with food, we’re giving restaurant owners the financial support to maintain their livelihoods.”

This partnership fuels the ongoing Filipinos Feed the Frontlines campaign that non-profit Kultivate Labs established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its disproportionate effect on the Filipina/x/o community and other BIPOC communities. The program recently expanded to Los Angeles’ Historic Filipinotown, with plans to launch the program in Stockton’s Little Manila next month. The campaign has so far raised over $110,000 supporting over a dozen restaurants, and donated 11,579 meals to healthcare workers, seniors, low-income families, frontline workers, and others in need.

The Frontlines campaign will continue beyond Thanksgiving, and is still accepting donations and volunteers. Donations are coupled with merchandise perks designed by local artists and restaurant partners, making a great holiday gift that keeps on giving.
